UV Cells | Photocells
Photocells and flame detectors are designed to detect the safe operation of the burner. When the photocell is coupled with a suitable flame controller they produce a signal to allow the burner to continue to run in the presence of a flame, or to shut it down safely in the absence of a flame.
Photocells or flame detectors are generally only used where a ‘fail safe’ needs to be installed for commercial and industrial boilers.
The photocell or flame detectors job is to allow the flow of current and to convert AC current to DC current when it detects the presence of a flame.
